IDENTIFIKASI DAN KARAKTERISTIK CO-ROTATING INTERACTION REGION GEOEFEKTIF

Abstract

Co-rotating Interaction Region (CIR) dipicu oleh interaksi angin matahari berkecepatan tinggi dengan angin Matahari yang lebih lambat. Diketahui bahwa CIR merupakan salah satu penyebab terjadinya badai geomagnet. Pada studi ini diidentifikasi dan dianalisis badai geomagnet yang dipicu CIR pada periode tahun 2008 – 2019 (Solar Cycle, SC 24). Diperoleh distribusi statistik badai geomagnet CIR dan parameter-parameter CIR pada angin Matahari. Analisis korelasi dilakukan untuk melihat hubungan antarparameter. Hasil studi yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa dari 176 kejadian badai geomagnet pada SC ke-24, sebanyak 48 (sekitar 27%) badai geomagnet diakibatkan oleh CIR. Kebanyakan badai geomagnet yang dipicu CIR ini berada pada level badai lemah. Meskipun plasma cepat (high speed streamer, HSS) adalah pemicu utama CIR, parameter komponen selatan medan magnet antarplanet dan medan listrik memegang peranan yang lebih krusial dibandingkan kecepatan angin Matahari pada tingkat gangguan badai geomagnet CIR.
