MENENTUKAN JENIS PELARUT DAN INISIATOR BERDASAR STRUKTUR KIMIA POLIBUTADIENA YANG DIHASILKAN
Abstract
A research to determine the types of solvent and inisiator for polymerisation reaction of 1,3-butadiene in preparation of polybutadiene has been done. It was done by opening double bond in butadiene chemical structure with inisiator in order to yield an active monomer. This active monomer further will react to it self to yield a prepolymer butadiene (Polybutadiene). The solvents used here are tetrahydrofurane (THF), penthane, hexane, toluene, and paraffin. While the inisiators are metals natrium and lithium. The reaction condition here is stirred in 400 rpm, periode 24 hours, temperature of -20ºC and in closed vessel. The expected result are a maximum polybutadiene structure of cis and vynil, and a minimum of trans chemical structure. Based on the research, a good condition, of the inisiator lithium for THF solvent and inisiator natrium for toluene solvent is obtained.
