APLIKASI POLIMER MINYAK KELAPA SAWIT CURAH (CPO) SEBAGAI PEREKAT LINER DAN FUEL BINDER PROPELAN KOMPOSIT
Abstract
This paper presents a comparison of the results of testing the mechanical properties of some polymers to be used for liner material and propellant fuel binder. The main properties that must be met for the liner material mechanical properties (tensile strength, hardness/ elasticity and bonding strength). As for fuel binder is elastic, nonporous and not brittle. Mechanical properties compared namely, tensile strength, hardness and bonding strength to the substrate steel with steel, Al with Al and rubber with rubber. Polymers compared are obtained from the polymerization of bulk palm oil (CPO) with polymeric materials are vailable in the market. The results showed that, polymers of CPO has dhesiveness and good heat resistance, allowing use for the liner and binders made with a process of quality improvement. It's just an average to high temperature is still below the heat-resistant adhesive that exist in the market except for the rubber with rubber. For high temperature adhesive from the CPO needs to improve the quality again, this can be proved by performing epoxidation and polyalkit of PU-MG, adhesion strength and Polialkit Epoxy-MG increased.
