PROSES PEMBENTUKAN TOLUENDIKARBAMAT SEBAGAI INTERMEDIET DALAM SINTESIS TOLUENDIISOSIANAT
Abstract
Toluenedicarbamate (TDC) is an intermediate substance that formed in producing toluenediisocyanate (TDI). TDC is formed by the reaction between toluenediamine (TDA) and dimethyl carbonate (DMC) with Zn(OAc)
2. 2H2O as the catalyst for 7 hours using batch reactor that equipped by thermocouple, pressure gauge and magnetic stirer . By knowing the formation of TDC, the process candition that have done can be applied. Identification of TDC forming can be seen in the chemical structure ifferences between TDI, DMC and TDA. Based on this differences can be determine typical group of TDC by peaks that appear in FTIR analysis result. There is a secondary amine group (-NH-) in TDC that in the range 3300-3400 cm-1. The result of this research show that TDC have been formed at temperature 186ºC to 190ºC with yield at range 16,09% to 23,22%.
