PENGARUH AKTIVITAS MATAHARI DAN GEOMAGNET TERHADAP KETINGGIAN ORBIT SATELIT

Abstract

The sun is the main source of changings in space environment. It is continuously emitting the radiation and energic particles which influence the orbit of satellite and its instrumentation. It can be seen from solar activity (indicated by radiation flux F10,7) and geomagnetic activity (indicated by AP INDEX) Which are used as space environmental parameters. Both parameters influence the altitude of satellites indirectly. It means that these parameters directly influence the atmosphere around satellite, result the drags which have opposite direction with satellite motion, caused decreasing the altitude. In this paper it can be seen that in the high solar activity, both parameters decreasing the altitude of satellite rapidly in LEO. In MEO, these effect are relatively small. It can be seen from some cases of satellites in LEO and MEO which are used in this research.
