Abstract

The Pi2 magnetic pulsations is one of the irregular magnetic pulsations that excite in the magnetosphere with period of 40 to 150 seconds. The occurrences of Pi2 magnetic pulsations relates to the existence of the substorm onsets, therefore Pi2 magnetic pulsations can be used as indicartor of magnetospheric substorm. In this study, we will determine time of onset of Pi2 magnetic pulsations by using method of spline cubic and then we will compare with result which have been determined by Fukuyama et al. (2004) on the onset of Pi2 magnetic pulsation at GUAM (5.61 GM lat., 215 GM lon.) and we analyzed that onset of Pi2 magnetic pulsations observed from BIK. (minus9.73 GM lat., 207.39 GM lon.) at January, 2nd, 2001. We found that the onset of Pi2 magnetic pulsation observed from BIK is 18 : 17 : 17 UT. This result consistent with Fukuyama et.al.,(2004).
