STUDI KORELASI STATISTIK INDEKS K GEOMAGNET REGIONAL MENGGUNAKAN DISTRIBUSI GAUSS BERSYARAT
Abstract
Statistical study on correlation of the regional geomagnetic K index can be used to know external disturbances effect indicating causal relation between sun and geomagnetic. Such study can use Maximum Likelihood method through Conditional Gaussian Distribution. Its disturbance, such as disturbance from solar magnetic cloud upstanding to earth surface that influence geomagnetic components and K index, so that there will be regional temporal pattern. The analysis of the correlation K index was done by direct and indirect correlation method. Direct correlation is determined from Biak K index data compared to Tangerang K index data. The result of correlation value is about 0.635 during maximum solar activity 1999. This value means that the effect of the external disturbances both in Biak and Tangerang is about 63.5percent. While indirect correlation was done by means of the annual K index data from both station according to solar poaition, that is from north to equator, equator to south vice versa especially result is that value of correlation between Biak K index and center point is 0.897 and then between Tangerang K index and center point is 0.883
